Hyundai today issued this pair of design renderings of the new i20, revealing a supermini with even more aspirations to be German. With shades of mini Golf in both the front and rear design sketches, the new 2015 Hyundai i20 looks more European than ever. This, of course, should come as no surprise, since the new i20 has been styled at Hyundai Motor’s Design Centre Europe in Rüsselsheim, Germany.
The drop top version of the DS3 – the Citroen DS3 Cabrio – is to get its UK debut at this year’s Top Gear Live shows. Just as Fiat has with the 500, Citroen has given the DS3 Cabrio a folding roof that keeps pillars and roof rails in place so the DS3 Cabrio looks just like the regular DS3 with the roof up, saving weight and costs and keeping the very good looks of the DS3 intact. The DS3 Cabrio is due to go on sale in early 2013 – just in time for first customer deliveries in the spring – but ahead of the UK arrival of the Cabrio you can see Citroen’s appealing drop top at this year’s Top Gear Live shows.
Christian Von Koenigsegg and Drive are back with another installment of “Inside Koenigsegg.” Episode 3 focuses on the One:1's active rear wing. The naked carbon-fiber wing on the 1,360-hp Koenigsegg One:1 gets a front-top mounting, which reportedly causes less turbulence than a rear-mounted wing. The total weight is about 20 pounds, which von Koenigsegg claims is about 1/3 of what most active wing systems weigh.
